the coffee shop Hamburg city centre

Rating: 8.5 out of 10

There is a rule about coffee shops located in close proximity to High Street: their name starts with „star“ and ends with „bucks“ and it is not characterized by quality but rather by exaggerated prices. Not this one! the coffee shop is located just a few meters off Jungfernstieg and offers great coffee from a roastery in Norway called Solberg & Hansen plus a nice view and usually a free seat to relax from your shopping marathon. Enjoy a cappuccino with intense flavour and a Franzbrötchen overseeing the Bleichenfleet!

torrefaktum Kaffeerösterei in Hamburg Ottensen

Rating: 7.0 out of 10

torrefaktum had been highly recommend to us and doesn’t disappoint. However, it doesn’t really amaze either. A bit too milky, which is a pity as the subtle aroma deserves better than being run over by a lot of milk. We should definitely try an espresso next time or maybe go for double shot.

Azzurro in Hamburg Eppendorf

Rating: 7.5 out of 10

This is a small café in Hamburg Eppendorf serving a very good cappuccino with a balanced aroma. We found the interior a little cold but sitting on the terrace in the sunshine is very enjoyable!

Noon im Bremer Viertel

Rating: 7.0 out of 10

Today we are back in our home town testing this latest and highly praised addition to the hanseatic cappuccino scene in Bremen. The Noon does not fail to meet our expectations. Located in the „Kleine Haus“ (Bremen’s Goethe Theatre) it is hidden from public view but serves great cappuccino with solid late art and guatemaltecan beans.

Stockholm Espresso Club, Hamburg

Rating: 8.5 out of 10
This hidden spot in Hamburg Winterhude came along as a very nice surprise. Excellent coffee quality, beautiful latte art and surprisingly fairly quiet on a Sunday afternoon. Check out the swan in the pic! By the way, the interior is also quite stylish and designy and you can sit outside on the quiet street.

Silo in Berlin, Friedrichshain

Rating: 8.0 out of 10
Open for just one year, the Silo in Friedrichshain is the perfect spot for a good quality cappuccino. The beans come from the Berlin roasting plant the Barn. Besides the coffee, the breakfast is highly recommended and you can only order in English, since the staff doesn’t speak German.

Aunt Benny, Berlin Friedrichshain

Rating 6.5 out of 10
We are still in Berlin where „Aunt Benny“ is serving a good cappuccino made from the Five Elephants beans in Berlin Friedrichshain. The cheesecake is to die for.

Berliner Kaffeerösterei

Rating: 6 out of 10
Great choice of coffee beans and a decent cappuccino were spoiled by a waiting time of 45 minutes. However, the cake selection made up for it.

Decent Cappuccino at Hamburg Airport

Rating: 5.5 out of 10
After several failures, we’ve found a decent Cappuccino at Hamburg Airport. The café is called Pier 2 Bar and is located in Terminal 1 between gate C14 and C15.

Duske & Duske, Hamburg City Center

Rating: 8.0 out of 10
What a surprise! In the city center of Hamburg, Große Bleichen 36, at a Tobacco Shop, you can get a perfect cappuccino.  The barista and his Faema machine are located outside of the shop, but only on sunny days.
